About Us

Founded in Utah by a coach with a vision — a field where every child belongs.

Doyle Unsworth

B.S. Kinesiology — University of Wyoming (2000)

Doyle Unsworth has been coaching youth athletics since 1994, beginning at age 16 with his younger brother’s Taylorsville Little League teams — the Marlins and Rockies. Over the past three decades, he has coached baseball, wrestling, cross country, and track and field.

While coaching his youngest son’s baseball team, Doyle recognized a significant gap in opportunities for youth with special needs to participate in organized baseball in Utah. After an initial proposal was declined, he contacted the Babe Ruth League and — with their support — founded Utah’s Bambino Buddy Ball program.

As Utah State Commissioner, Doyle oversees a league serving youth ages 5–18, ensuring that every child who wants to play has a place on the field.

The Utah Bambino Buddy-Ball Division is chartered through Hunter Cyprus Baseball and affiliated with the Babe Ruth League — reflecting their commitment to sportsmanship, inclusion, character, and opportunity for all.
